Dubai, known for its architectural marvels like the Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa, is set for another landmark project. Emaar, the homegrown developer, is reportedly planning to construct the “Emaar Super Tower,” which aims to rival the iconic Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest building.
Emaar’s founder, Mohamed Alabbar, is said to be spearheading the design of the Super Tower, which will integrate cutting-edge technology with sustainable practices. While the exact location remains under wraps, potential sites include areas near Dubai Creek or Downtown Dubai. The design concepts being considered range from a futuristic glass tube to a rocket-inspired structure, incorporating both modern and gothic elements.
The Middle East continues to make headlines with ambitious construction projects. Azizi Developments recently announced the Burj Azizi on Sheikh Zayed Road, slated to reach 725 meters and include an observation deck by 2028.
In neighboring Saudi Arabia, the Jeddah Tower is poised to surpass the Burj Khalifa, aiming for a height of 850 meters as part of the Jeddah Economic City development. This tower will feature residential units, shopping malls, fine dining, sports centers, and a Four Seasons hotel.
As for the Burj Khalifa, construction began in 2004, culminating in its completion in 2009 and official opening in 2010. Standing at a staggering 828 meters, it houses the Armani Hotel Dubai, luxurious residences, and the renowned At.mosphere restaurant.
